About Joseph
My name is Joe Perko. I am a thirty year old union electrician and a lifelong resident of Pueblo.
For some time now it has been my desire to run for city council because I feel as though it is crucial for our city to be managed responsibly. My family has been a part of this community for over a century and I care deeply about it as well as the citizens here.
In addition to being a certified journeyman electrician, I have a business degree with an emphasis on ecomomics, and I have been an involved volunteer for a number of organizations around town, from homeless outreach to city cleanup.
If elected, I will take this position as seriously as possible and I will be committed to all my constituents, regardless of political affiliation.
If you elect me I will look forward to serving this town and making it the better home it can be to all of us. Please offer your support for a more whole Pueblo today!

Experience
Credentials
Community Service
I have been employed in many diverse fields. Throughout college I worked for a number of unique jobs, blue and white collar alike. Some of these include:
-RAILROADING
-GROUNDSKEEPING
-COLLEGE TUTORING
Jobs like these have made me familiar with working on both sides of a desk, and more than prepared to do either.
In Pueblo I have also been lucky enough to work in some of our city's most intetesting careers, such as:
-ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION
-CODE ENFORCEMENT
Through these pursuits, I have gotten to personally fix and maintain some of the town's most important buildings, both commercial, industrial and residential. I have also personally contributed to the cleaning of delinquint properties and seen how dire parts of our city are. In this way, I know how disadvantaged certain places are, how much better they can be, and how to get there.
My life has taken me in numerous directions, and I have therefore collected many qualifications for the job of city counselor. Among the most prominent of these are:
-SIX YEARS ON PUEBLO'S MARIJUANA LICENSING BOARD
-A FULL DEGREE IN BUSINESS, WITH AN EMPHASIS ON ECONOMICS
-TEACHING AT A TRADE SCHOOL
Though I don't currently sit on the council, I attend every meeting, and have attended regularly for years. I am involved and onformed of every issue they face. My time on the marijuana board had me literally in the same seat I aspire to hold in the council chambers. This experience, combined with the knowledge I gained in my business education and the leadership experience I have accrued working in the trades are exactly why I am ready for this job: because I am going to begin fully and indisputable prepared.
This town is everyting to me. Having lived outside of it for a time, I understand how little other parts of the state think of us. Since I know better, I find this absolutely unacceptable. Rather than trying to cast blame on others in charge, I have often taken it upon myself to do what is necessary to make improvements. Some of the things I've done have been:
-VOLUNTEERING FOR THE HOMELESS
-VOLUNTEER CLEANUPS OF URBAN AND RECREATIONAL SPACES
-SETUP AND PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL CITY EVENTS
Doing the right thing is never easy, but it is someting I do not take lightly. With this office, I will continue my efforts on an administrative scale, giving all I can back to our city. If you are looking for an elected leader who will personally be on the ground with dirty hands, know-how, and a can-do attitude, look no further.
